Roman Polanski
1) Polanski’s worked in a number a genres throughout the 1960s,
most notably the horror genre with Repulsion (1965) and Rosemary’s Baby (1968).
2)His first feature length film, Knife in the Water (1962) is not a horror film or even a film about war.
Description of the scene:
The following scene demonstrates Polanski's mastery of tension and suspense through dialogue and mise-en-scène. Notice how the young man's head dominates the frame as he talks to Andrzej (Leon Niemczyk) and Krystyna (Jolanta Umecka) in the latter half of the clip.
Knife in the Water (Roman Polanski, 1962):
People on a leisure both... bringing out food in her bikini a man and wife and a guest. Do you like black radishes? He takes out a huge knife weapon. starts playing a knife game in between his fingers. She says, you're a child. Nice scene set up back of his head and the two others on the deck... they're having a nice lunch. nicely framed scene.
